What should I say at my reckless driving hearing?

If you otherwise have an unblemished driving record, a good strategy is to acknowledge your fault, show contrition and remorse, apologize, state it will not happen again, and also state--without being defensive about it--any legitimate mitigating factors (for example: the speed limit had been higher just down the road, then lowered in the stretch where you were speeding). Generally, if you have a good record, the prosecutor and/or court will show leniency--you'll still have a fine and points, but it will less than it might otherwise have been.

If you've had previous violations, retain an attorney to defend you and follow his/her advice.
