Under the laws of all states in this coutnry there is what is known as sister state judgments. Under a sister state judgment, a judgment creditor in one state can apply for and get recognition of its judgment in another state where the judgment debtor resides. Once recognized, the judgment creditor can then levy upon assets and garnish the wages of the judgment debtor which seems to be happening in your matter.
