Now she wants child support, but does not want to go through the legal system. What can he do to make sure he does not have to pay support.

If you son has been determined by DNA testing to not be the father of the child that you are writing about then under the laws of all states in this country he is not legally obligated to pay child support. I suggest that he consult with a family law attorney to guide him further as to the issue of your question.
