If my job duties include running the daily deposit to the company bank, what are my rights regarding compensation for this time?

I always run company errands on the clock with my own vehicle. They have never allowed us to get milage reimbursement for using our own car. Now they want us to run all company errands off the clock. They want us to punch out and run the errands. They are willing to compensate us for the time and milage by filling out reimbursement forms. My concern is if I have an accident while running their errands off the clock can they be held accountable for the accident? Can they terminate me if I refuse to punch out to run these errands off the clock.

If you are running company business, you should be on the clock, period. If you are a W-2 employee, they cannot get around liability by keeping you off the clock.  You can be held accountable for any accidents as well as them and you want to make sure they either give you a company vehicle or cover you with indemnification if you get into an accident or provide additional insurance.  Check with your state's labor department on any regulations or orders it may have on this matter.
