If I was caught driving with a suspended license due to a lapse in insurance but this is my first offense, do I need to have a lawyer for court?
I have a perfect driving record and was unaware that my license was suspended. How should I proceed?

Any time one is subject to a criminal matter it is always best to have an attorney represent him or her in the matter. So too it is my advice that you retain a criminal defense attorney to represent you with respect to the suspended license matter that you are involved in as opposed to appearing on your own.
