What happens if I am on a student visa but work?
I came to the US as a student 6 years ago and I have been maintaining my legal status ever since. Next month, I will be filing I-485 application based on marriage to a US citizen. I am currently on OPT but the “job” I have with OPT gives me almost zero money so I work part time somewhere else by getting paid in cash. I want to know how I should fill out my I-485 (the current occupation part) and G-325A (employment history) since as a student, I know I am not allowed to work. Some people suggest me that I must never reveal these facts. Others say that I have to be honest with USCIS otherwise I will be in trouble.
