What are my rights to use clients pictures for my business?
I recently opened my own business where I dress up as Cinderella for events with children. I show up for birthday parties, hospital visits, as well as public and corporate events. I want to use the pictures I take at these events and put them on my website and Facebook page, however I want to make sure I am legally allowed to do so. The pictures I have taken I have asked verbal permission from the child’s parents (as the children are under the age of 18) but do I need the parents to sign a release form?

Using a model release for each of your clients grants you permission to use their images on your website, blog or any other promotional materials. It is also a great idea to keep a model release with you at all times, in case you happen to grab a picture somewhere and you think you may want to use it for your promotional materials. Simply have your subject fill it out to protect your business.
