What to do if my friend’s ex-girlfriend offered to let his 13 year old son drive his car without permission and his son had an accident?

My friend had stopped at a park to use the restroom His son hit another car (the girlfriend was in car with him). Since it was his son and his car, my friend had to go to court and was fined $500. I think he should sue his ex for the money since he had no idea nor did he give her permission to let his son drive his car. Does he have a case?

Yes, he would have a case against the ex-girlfriend, because letting a 13-year old drive a car is clearly negligent, or unreasonably careless, at best; it may also be considered reckless or even an intentional bad act. Your friend would seem to have grounds to sue her for the amount of the fine and for the cost of any repairs.
