If you have a written lease for a definite term e.g. one year and the lease term has not yet expired, you generally cannot be evicted until the term expires the landlord can onky convey to the buyer what he himself has, which is a property with a tenant and an inforcee written lease. But if you have an oral lease, an expired written lease, or a month to month written lease, you are a month to month tenant, and the landlord may evict you foe this reason or any reason on 30 days notice.
