Pursuant to CA law, a "default divorce" is one where the non-filing spouse does not sign the divorce papers and/or has nothing to do with the divorce process. That spouse is then said to have "defaulted" on the case and filing spouse is entitled to a divorce. In such cases, the court typically grants everything that the filing spouse seeks in their petition. Here is a link to a site that you will find to be of help: http://www.courts.ca.gov/8409.htm
