If the employer was at fault in causing your injury, you could potentially sue them--but only if they were at fault. However, they could legally fire you if you sue them.
Regardless of whether they were at fault or not, if injured on the job, you should be able to get Worker's Compensation. If you do, they cannot legally fire you for claiming for it, but they could terminate you if due to your injury you cannot work or do your job.
