hot check violation in arkansas
my dad went to a dealership to purchase a vehicle and gave a $50,000 down payment and financed the rest. he had postdated a check that they tried to cah before it was good and it bounced. they have already taken the check to the DA office. what are we looking at here? jail? probation? he has never been in trouble with the law in all his life.

I am a lawyer in CT. I cannot imagine why the DA is looking into this. the check was posted and i'm sure the instruction your dad gave to the dealer ship was that the check was to be cashed on the date written. there does not seem to be a fraud here or dishonesty, but rather a misunderstanding. I would hire a lawyer who can explain that to the DA.
