I hit a car in the back in Louisiana and got cited, can I fight the ticket.

The accident happened as a result of another pulling and stopping in front of the car that I hit. It was also lightly raining at this time.

You can fight it, but I don't want to get your hopes up about your chances.  In most situations, in most states, you are expected to keep enough distance between your car and the vehicle in front of you so that you can stop in time if something happens.  Is it 100 % realistic?  Perhaps not, but it's usually what the law requires.  Sometimes lines have to be drawn in a practical way that doesn't work out perfectly in every situation.

If you want to have a better estimate of your ability to beat this ticket, you need to have a local attorney review all of the unique facts of the case;  whatever the odds, they are almost certainly better if you are represented by a lawyer in court.  One place to find qualified defense counsel is our website, www.attorneypages.com
