I am so sorry for your loss.  Do you have help from an attorney on this matter?  If you do not I might suggest that you at least consult with one for guidance.  The clerks in the Probate parts are also generally very helpful in giving guidance although they can not give legal advice.

It is my understanding that in the state of Montana that once the executor or personal representative is appointed, he or she must publish notice of the death of the decedent for three (3) consecutive weeks in the local paper (the paper of the area in which the decedent lived) in order to give proper notice to creditors. So the answer to your question i "yes", three times.  Good luck.

Laws may vary from state to state, and sometimes change. Tiny variations in the facts, or a fact not set forth in a question, often can change a legal outcome or an attorney's conclusion. Although AttorneyPages.com has verified the attorney was admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, he or she may not be authorized to practice law in the jurisdiction referred to in the question, nor is he or she necessarily experienced in the area of the law involved. Unlike the information in the Answer(s) above, upon which you should NOT rely, for personal advice you can rely upon we suggest you retain an attorney to represent you.
