If adebt collector has seized a portion of my bank account what type of lawyer do I need?

Judgement against me but I was never notified of the case. What can I do? I don’t even know what I am paying for.

You need to retain a lawyer who does judgment collection defense work or just one that does general practice.

For a judgment creditor to levy upon one of your bank accounts someone supposedly filed a lawsuit against you, served you with the summons and complaint either personally, by sub-service or publication. You supposedly did not answer the complaint and as a result, a default and default judgment have been entered against you.

If you can pull up the case number of the action against you online, you should do so and see what the action is about. If you are unable to pull up the information online, you should go down to the court house, pull the file, and review it.

Good luck.
