What rights does an administrator have?
My parents are both gone and there is no Will. I have 2 sisters, 1 whom is petitioning for administrator. If I agree to this, am I giving up my rights to any control over my parents total estate? If my sister becomes the administrator, will she have the authority to be solely in charge of what happens with their estate?

I am so sorry for your loss. The power of an administator - which is the personal representative of the estate as well as the fiduciary- are great. Yes, she would have control over the assets of the estate to an extent. Distribution is governed by the intestacy statute but the decisions that need to be made as to selling assets to pay debt, etc. would be hers. It is possible to be co-administrators but you need to be able to get along and make decisions. Good luck.
