You may sue your employer. Employees must be paid for all work done, so if you performed the work and earned the check, you must be paid it. Even if it's your last check or the employer feels you owe it money for some reason (for example, it believes you damaged your uniform or other company property), it still needs to pay you. To reduce your costs, you may wish to consider suing in small claims court, where you could act as your own lawyer and filing fees are lower; also, cases in small claims court tend to move faster than in other courts.
