If I live in one state and my husband lives in another, how can I serve him papers?
Also, my husband receives SSI and has been giving our daughter the money, however, I would like that money directly given to me. How would I do that? He is not fighting, custody or anything; he only wants open visitation since he lives 1600 miles away. We have lived apart for over a year.

You can ask him to accept service which requires him to take the documents to a notary public and return them to you. You can serve him by return receipt, certified mail. You can serve him by hiring a process server in his state.
As for the SSI, after you serve him, file a motion with the court for the money to be paid to you.
