Yes, a landlord may evict you for non-payment of rent if you paid part of the rent. The landlord is entitled to payment in full of the rent by when it is due under the lease (whether a written lease or an oral one), and may evict if he/she receives *any* shortfall in the rent. You can avoid eviction by paying the balance due and owing prior to  the landlord obtaining a judgment of possession in court against you.
