Can I be sued for back rent if I wasn’t on the lease?

My wife and I sold our mobile home to the mobile home park we paid lot rent at. They made us a new lease that my wife signed but I did not. Then we got evicted for being behind on the rent. Now we have a court date, can they make me pay since I never signed the lease?

Technically probably not.  If the basis for the suit was the rent due under the new leae and you are not a party to the lease then you can not be named in the eviction.  But a judgement can have an effect on joint assets like bank account or tax returns.  Good luck.
