Wht to do if a rental car company found a scratch on a car that I returned?

There was no walk-around done before I took the vehicle and the part of the contract regarding prior damage was never completed. The contract is also for a completely different vehicle than what I was actually put in (different license plate number, make, etc.).

Based upon what you have written it seems that the rental car company cannot prove that you had possession of the vehicle that you are writing about in order to establish any liability as to you concerning the scratch that you have written about. I suggest that you write the rental car company a letter to that effect.
