You are entitled to get the return of the personal belongings that were in your car that was returned due to non-payment. The car is security for the loan. The personal items are not. I would simply contact the place where the car was returned and ask for your personal belongings back and follow up with a letter seeking such. Keep a copy of the letter for future reference and need.
