What to do if a rental management company signed a contract with me 4 months ago but the house is no longer available and they can’t find alternate placement because of the late date?

We are set to go in 2 months and have no where to go; there are 20 of us. Are they required to reimburse our airfare or pay the extra costs of renting else where? The contract says they have to provide us with comparable housing or give a refund. The amount I already paid is a $1000 deposit. The total rent would have been $$6000. Do they have to pay the total cost of another rental above the 6000 we agree apon?

Under the laws of all states in this country with respect to the situation that you have written about, the rental management company through its breach of the written contract is liable for any monthly rental increase that you will have to incur above the unit you cannot rent for the period of time of the original lease that cannot be provided.

The rental company would be responsible for the amount above the $6,000 for a similar alternate unit you will have to rent.
