After a person has served his sentence, can he have his record changed so the charge does not sound so horrible and it is not so hard for him to find employment?

My friend got “accessory to murder” because he did not tell the cops all he knew after the fact, protecting someone he loved. Can he now have it changed to “obstruction of justice” or similar, so potential employers don’t assume he’s a violent offender?

Under the laws of all states in this country once a person has been convicted of a crime in this country the conviction for the stated crime cannot be changed after the fact for a lesser included conviction. You might consider consulting with a criminal defense attorney about possibly getting the prior conviction expunged.
