If my car and money got seized after a traffic stop, what are the chances of my gettingthem back?

I was taking husband to ER because of seizure he had at home but he had another while I was driving there. This caused me to swerve and I got stopped and in the car they found a couple of packages of medication that we purchased off street. They are charging us with intent to deliver and me with DWI (but didn’t get breath test). My husband just social security backpay and they seized that money; I have proof of that SS payment. Also, we just bought the car. Should I speak with a criminal defense attorney? In Lincoln County, AR

Yes, I would definitely speak with an attorney in your area on the matter as soon as you can.  The law has really come down on DWI and DUI matters in every state. Things are becoming stricter and stricter and the penalties more and more harsh and unforgiving.  It really is in the best interest of the general public for it to be this way but sometimes one can get caught up in a web of things that they can not get out of.  It may also take a very long time to iron the matter out and for your car to be released from impound so be prepared for that and to be without it for a while.  Your attorney can give you a better idea of a time frame once he or she reviews the charges and the proof.  Good luck.
