Am I liable on a lease if I never moved in?
I signed a lease 3 days ago with the intent on moving this week but, my present landlord offered me a better offer. I never paid any money or received any keys. What are my rights with refusing to move in to this new place? They said before I could move in, there was a mandatory deposit that must be paid.

If you signed a written lease agreement with the new landlord and then decided that you did not want to move into the unit, you are contractually obligated with your new landlord for the new lease that you signed and for its duration.
I suggest that you try to get a written release from the new landlord that you are not obligated under the lease. If you are unable to do so, then you very well will need to move into the new unit and pay the monthly rent until the lease is at an end.
