Are bond hearings only for suspects who are accused of less serious crimes?
My son, a first time offense, committed and confessed to armed robbery. His attorney said the court would never allow a bond hearing for him. He has been in jail for over a month. This just doesn’t make sense to me.

No. A bond hearing may be held in any crimnal offense if there is some request to detain the person.
