Are Florida Landlords required to repair/replace existing air conditiong?

When we rented our place, the air worked, but now it does not. We have had someone out to clean it, but that did not work. The unit has to be replaced…it’s 80 + in our home. Are my landlord resposible for the repair or replacement of the unit?

Yes. If you rented a place with an air conditioner, the existence of functioning A/C is part of the contract or bargain, and the landlord needs to replace/repair it, same as he or she would have to fix it if the toilets did not work or electricity went out or a window had a large crack in it. (Even better would be if written descriptions of the place or the rental agreement  mentions the A/C--your landlord is responsible even without that, but it'd be easier to convince him/her to pay if you could just point to something in writing.)
