Are my parents allowed to have green cards if they don’t intend to live in the US?
My parents want green cards only to ease travel between our home country and the US. They will not have a US bank account, they will not have a US mailing address, nothing. Is this allowed? Is this even possible?

It's possible for a little while, until the border patrol realizes this and confronts your parents on a trip to the US and their status can and will be revoked/terminated. A green card is permanent resident status in the US. In order to have a green card, one must have an intention to reside in the US permanently. If that is not the case, then the status can be terminated/revoked.
