Were my rights violated if I was verbally told that I was suspended but never received anything in writing?

I requested my suspension in writing never received it. I was terminated 3 days later. If I don’t agree with how I was dismissed, what do I do?

Was company policy violated by the circumstances surrounding your suspension/termination? Were the terms of any union agreement or employment contract not followed? Was some form of legally actionable discrimination a factor in your treatment? If not, then you have no recourse here. The fact is that there is no legal requirment to put a suspension in writing.

The fact is that in at-will employment arrangement, an employer can set the terms and conditions of the workplace; this includes whether a suspension can be verbal. Additionally, an employee can be terminated for any reason (good or bad) or no reason at all.
