They can absolutely do this:
1) There is no right to enter stores or private businesses--they can exclude anyone they like, for any reason that is not discrimination (such as racial discrimination).
2) Employment is employment at will--your girlfriend's employer could fire her if they wanted, if you visit her at work against their wishes.
