Can a convicted felon serve as a trustee and also as a health surrogate?
My brother served time in a federal prison for the crime of money laundering. Several years ago he coerced my mother into signing documents including irrevocable trustee and had her sign a quit claim deed of her condo. Please help me. I cannot afford an attorney. I took care of my mother as caregiver for over 7 years and he is shutting me out of her healthcare. He is trying to remove my husband and I from her home which we have li b ed in and taken care of her all these years.

From what you have written about you need to consult with an attorney in your community experienced in elder abuse law sooner rather than later. One can be found in your locality through attorneypages.com if you cannot get a local referal from someone you already know.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Answer(s) provided above are for general information only. The attorney providing the answer was not serving as the attorney for the person submitting the question or in any attorney-client relationship with such person. Laws may vary from state to state, and sometimes change. Tiny variations in the facts, or a fact not set forth in a question, often can change a legal outcome or an attorney's conclusion. Although AttorneyPages.com has verified the attorney was admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, he or she may not be authorized to practice law in the jurisdiction referred to in the question, nor is he or she necessarily experienced in the area of the law involved. Unlike the information in the Answer(s) above, upon which you should NOT rely, for personal advice you can rely upon we suggest you retain an attorney to represent you.
