Can a debt collector make me pay more than I can afford with my living expenses and income?
I need to know if what they did was illegal because I can’t afford $156 a month with my income and living expenses. They told me if I didn’t they would garnish my wages for more. What do I do?

A creditor or debt collector does not have to take consideration of your financial position or other obligations. If you do not pay an amount they find acceptable or agreeable, they could take legal action, which could potentially lead to having up to, I believe, 25% of your income garnished.
