Can a physician sponsor a green card for a medical assistant?

Currently, I am on temporary protected status and from it I received my employment card. With that, I

have been working as a medical assistant for 2 months now. Can the doctor sponsor me for the green card through employment? If yes, what are the necessary steps?

Yes, this is possible but the process will take many many years as medical assistant is not considered a specialty occupation requiring a higher degree and the wait times are very long.  However, if you are TPS for a while and have the luxury of time, perhaps your employer can start the process on your behalf.
