Can a private eye secretly videotape me in a hotel elevator and floor?
I been having an affair on my wife. I think my wife hired a private eye and took pictures or video of me in my hotel elevator and walking to my room. Is this legal and do I have any expected privacy in these areas? My hotel elevator has a room key that makes it work.

No, you do not have a privacy expectation in the hotel elevator and hallway. Notwithstanding the need for a room key for the elevator, those are still public or common areas of a place of public accomodation; hence there is no reasonable or enforceable expectation of privacy.
