Can a car purchased with trust fund money be split in divorce if it was bought during the marriage?
My husband and I are going through a divorce and he has a trust fund that technically he isn’t supposed to touch until he is 25 years old but his sister holds it and gives him chunks of money out of it. During our marriage, we bought a brand new car (it’s only in his name, but we both drove it and were both on the insurance.) with his trust fund money, and I was wondering if I still get half of the value of the car. He’s saying I don’t because it’s not community property since it was bought with his trust fund.
