My Employer in CA is demanding every employee to get a personal
Facebook account and like them on it. Is this legal?

The fact is that most work arrangements are what is know as "at will". This means that a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit (absent some form of legally actionable discrimination). Accordingly, unless this mandate violates the terms of a union agreement or employment contract, you can refuse to comply but risk termination.
