Can an insurance company legally divulge detailed driver record information to a 3rd party?

For example my boyfriend wants to add me to his insurance so he gave the agent my SSN and they gave him detailed information going back 26 years. This has now caused quite a rift between us. I have nothing to hide but was not bragging about tickets I’d received in my younger years.

Yes, if you are to be added as an additional insured under your boyfriend's auto insurance policy where your boyfriend will be paying the premiums for it, the representative for the insuramce carrier is entitled to and legally allowed to provide information concerning your driving record to him.
