Presumably your wife's current health care provider can attempt to not cancel her existing health insurance policy. However, under the laws of all states in this country, if your wife sends written notice of her intent and desire to cancel this health insurance policy and speak with a claims representative, her insurance carrier must adhere to her wishes.
