Do you have a written employment contrract? If you do and the way or reason you were terminated violates the terms of the contract, then you may have a cause of action for wrongful termination. 
However, if you do not have an employment contract, you were an employee at will and could be terminated at any time, for any reason--even for unfair reasons, or for things you have not control over, or for mistakes of your employer. So while this may be unfair, it would not be illegal if ou did not have an employment contract.
