Can I file a civil lawsuit for wrongful termination?

I was fired from my job on last week. My company said that I was overpaid due to an accounting era. They admitted in the meeting that they were at fault, yet I was fired due to lack of integrity.

Did you have a union agreement or employment contract that prohibited your firing under the circumstances? Did your treatment constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination? If not, then your termination was legal. The fact is that most employment relationships are "at will". This means that a company can set the conditions of employment much as it sees fit. Accordingly, a worker can be discharged for the reason that or cite, or for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice.
