Possibly you can rescind (cancel) your lease for the rental that you are writing about if your landlord told you before you entered into the lease that the unit was heated on electricity but in reality it is heated on oil.
The issue is are you responsible for the heating costs or not? If so, what would the cost differential be between heating the home with electricity versus oil? If you are obligated to pay the heating costs and the differential between oil and electricity is great, then possibly you may have a basis to cancel your lease.
I suggest that you consult with your landlord about the subject you are writing about.
