Can I hold my ex-husband responsible for past due property taxes?

In the divorce he signed our home over to me. At the time it wasn’t paid for but now it is. Can I make him pay for the back taxes due up until the divorce was final?

The time line will matter here.  If he signed over the home before the divorce was final it may be difficult to hold him responsible for the taxes paid. Logically he did not own it so he could not be liable for them. Please check with your attorney on the matter.  Good luck.
