The fact that someone is injured on another's property or at their business does not, without more, entitle the injured person to compensation. For there to be liability, or an obligation to pay, there must be fault; that is, the fast food chain would only be liable if they did something wrong. So if they did not maintain the slide correctly, or knew it was damaged and didn't fix it, or installed it in an unsafe way, etc., that would give you a legal claim against them. But if they did nothing wrong and your son just fell or landed badly without it being anyone's fault--which does happen--they would not be responsible or financially liable for his injury.
