Can I sue my employer for taking disciplinary action against me for serving jury duty?
I gave them my summons the day I got it (I have a witness) 2 weeks prior to serving. I had to call in everyday to check on service reporting. I was call to court on a Thursday morning at 7:30 am. My job requires that I conclude work between 2 and 3 am so I took off Wednesday night. I received 1 attendance point for Wednesday a Corrective Action/write-up in my file for Thursday and sent home Sunday while someone else covered my regular shift. I have documentation that says I did what I was supposed to.
