Can I sue my home insurer for not providing criminal activity information that would have prevented a day time break-in and robbery?

My insurance agent informed me after the break-in that I was the 23rd day time break-in in my area over the prior two months. He had this information from the police reports filed. All my contact information is available at the on-line website. Doesn’t the insurance company have an obligation to protect me from loss?

Although I can surely understand your anger here I do not think that the law would make an insurer your personal police to protect you from what could be in the future, especially when the information is available to you as well with a little bit of inquiry. It would be burdensome on the insurer.  Good luck.
