Can I use trademarked names of board games in my commercial?
I’m starting up a Gaming/Geek Bar and I’m trying to raise funds on Kickstarter.
This includes running some commercials. I want to be able to say ‘Monopoly’ or
‘Magic the Gathering’ etc in my commercial. Can I be sued for this?

Yes, you potentially could be. Only the owner of a trademark has the right to use it for commercial purposes, such as in advertising a business or venue. You cannot use their trademarks without their consent. Go to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to check what exactly is trademarked; find a way to advertise without using what they have trademarked.
