Can state excise taxes be discharged in bankruptcy?
The taxes were assessed 7 months ago for tax periods dating back 4-6 years ago. If I read the bankruptcy laws correctly, the tax should be able to be discharged 240 days after it was assessed. Am I correct?

Under federal bankrutpcy laws state excise taxes can be discharged after such taxes have been placed for a certain period of time and then the debtor files for bankruptcy protection after a period of 250 days or so after assessed. You are correct with your belief.
