can my employer force me to go through a body scanner
I work at a jewelry manufactoring plant. We go through metal detectors. Now they
want us to go through a full body scanner. There are no female security
personnel.

Yes, your employer can do this. The fact is that in an "at will" employment arrangement (and most work arrangments are at will), a company can set the terms and conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit. This includes requiring employees to go through a body scanner for security purposes. That is unless there exits an employment contract or union agrement that prhibits this mandate. Also, such a rule must not constitute some form og legally actionable discrimination (which it does not appear to). Bottom line, you can either comply with this regulation, complain and risk termination, or quit.
