Can my former employer refuse to send employment of verification to my mortgage company although I signed a consent form to release this information?

I’m trying to get a pre approval for a home and the mortgage company has

sent several request to my former employer requesting my employment

verification and I signed the consent form they are ignoring the request. Can

they refuse to give this information.

Yes, they can refuse to provide this information: employers are not legally obligated to provide employment verifications. You may need to prove your former employment and income other ways, such as by a Form W-2, paystubs, tax returns, etc., or else look for a different lender who will not require this employment verification.
